Gawd, I am a shameless celebrity whore. I honestly didn't mean to be at the premiere of The Matrix Reloaded but I was really just passing by. What the hey, it might be fun! I had my camera with me as usual so I thought perhaps I could get some Hello! type shots. I was in a fairly good position too; I was quite near to where the celebrities got out of their cars and I managed to get a glimpse of quite a number of people (Richard Branson, Gail Porter, Thierry Henry). The first people to arrive who were actually from the film were the guys who play the Twins. Couldn't see much of them cos by now it started to rain pretty heavily and everyone had their umbrellas up. Then Hugo Weaving arrived. These two Chinese dudes who were right behind the barricade were like, "Agent Smith! Agent Smith!" Jada Pinkett arrived and she does look as short as I imagined her to be, and Laurence Fishburne turned up almost immediately after that.

At this point the only other person expected on the red carpet was Keanu Reeves (Carrie-Anne Moss wasn't attending - bummer!) so every car that arrived was greeted with heightened enthusiasm. But it was only after a couple of false alarms and B-grade celebrities (Lisa Maffia, whodat?) that Mr Anderson finally arrived. The crowd went absolutely mad for it and I was being pushed from all sides, and I in turn pushed the people in front of me. Everyone was clambering on top of each other to catch a glimpse of The One. He was obviously the biggest star of the show so he spent quite a bit of time on the red carpet signing autographs and stuff. This girl was jumping and screaming, "He touched my hand! He touched my hand!" I even joined in the chant for, "Keanu! Keanu!" The whole situation made me laugh – I mean, I just couldn't believe I was actually there among the hordes of predominantly screaming girls you usually only see on TV. But whatever man, I got to see Keanu Reeves in person!

A celebrity whore and proud of it.

Aaarggh!!! I just realised Lisa Germano was in London a few days ago! She played two dates as well! Darn darn darn. Geek The Girl is one of my favourite albums ever. Every time I listen to 'A Psychopath' I get chills down my spine. Which reminds me, a couple of weeks back, I was listening to the album on the bus. Just when the song 'Cry Wolf' came on, this white Mercedes drove past the bus with the number plate 'W404OLF'. Weird.

Waiting patiently for my new Lisa Germano CD to arrive from Djangos ...

On one hand I'm kinda looking forward to going home. On the other, it also worries me that I'll soon be in the presence of narrow-minded dumbwits like this once more. No offence to the Singaporeans who'll be checking out the link. You know it's just kids babbling.

UPDATE! That's right b*tches (clever huh? It could be 'butches' for all you know!).

Right now I'm munching on a Tesco dairy cream éclair and listening to Blur's Think Tank. I've never paid much attention to them (Blur I mean), but seeing that it got a 9.0 from Pitchfork and an 'A' from Spin, I thought I'd give it a try. Quite good indeed, really like that tune 'Good Song'. Been listening to a couple of other things like Prince's Purple Rain, this reggae compilation called Nice Up The Dance, dug up some old drum'n'bass in the form of Photek and 4hero.

I have decided to go back to Malaysia for good. Probably gonna head back somewhere between late July and early August. Have to get out of this darn flat anyway cos the tenancy ends in August. In preparation for my imminent return home, I've been applying for jobs back in KL. A year and a half's worth of job hunting in London and I've never even been called up for an interview. Is it because I is foreign rudebwoy? I dunno. In stark contrast, I've already been offered two job interviews back in KL.

Second éclair now. I will miss London, of course. I'll miss the friends that I've made here, the record stores, Shad Thames, the record stores, going to really good gigs and, of course, the record stores. I will not miss the weather, living with my sister, awful food (either that, or overpriced) and London public transport.

Home it is, yes. Final answer.

Photography of this standard puts every picture that I've ever taken to shame.
