We're almost at the end of the first month of the year. Every year at about this time, I start making plans to travel back to London. And then by the next month I fall back into feeling sorry for my stupid-ass self and start hating everything. My job, my car, my home, my work clothes, my flat feet, my sweaty palms, the floaters in my eyes, Malaysian politicians, girls, rising crime rates, Kentucky Fried Chicken, everything. I'm not sure if it's going to be any different this year. Judging by my initial plans to go to China, it looks like it's just going to be the same ol' same ol'.

The plan was to go to Wuhan after the Chinese New Year to be with Polly who promised that she was going to hook me up with lots of hot chicas, failing which she would just fuck me to end my involuntary celibacy. Oh, and to learn some Mandarin on the side. For reasons (and excuses) best known to myself, that has now gone down the proverbial drain. I still hope that I'll be able to see Polly this year.

It's ironic, I'm 28 but I get out of bed feeling more like an angsty teenager nowadays than I ever did when I was an angsty teenager. And boy was I an angsty teenager. On second thought, have I ever not been one? I think that's basically what my folks think of me. "Still locks himself in his room, still listens to his 'black people music', still doesn't have a girlfriend. The only difference now is that he has thinner hair and unkempt sideburns."

So yeah, the plan is to go to London in April.
